BING Gains U.S. Market Share

Microsoft Corp’s new search engine BING gained U.S. market share from its major rival Google Inc., this according to data released yesterday. It has been just approximately one month since BING was launched, and the new search engine accounted for 8.23% of U.S. web searches in June, up 5.38% prior to BING’s debut.

Google, by far the world’s most popular search engine, lost market share – slipping to 78.48% from 78.72% prior to BING. Microsoft has been investing heavily in its online services, as it refuses to yield to Google in the “search wars”.
